Baked and Wired is an artsy neighborhood bakery & coffeehouse supplying espresso drinks, big cupcakes & signature granola. It is overshadowed by the local Georgetown Cupcakes, but is cheaper, quicker and more delicious, giving the locals the real cupcakes they want.

Kramerbooks and Afterwords
Kramerbooks & Afterwords first opened its doors in 1976. At the time of its opening it was the first bookstore/cafe in Washington DC. Over the years, through expansions, subpoenas, and innumerable neighborhood changes, much of our business has remained constant. They provide their patrons with access to the best books, and to the most delicious, varied food. In addition to possessing a lively, convivial atmosphere, and a full-service bar, Kramerbooks & Afterwords stages hundreds of book-related events each year, both in the store and elsewhere. Renwick Gallery
The Renwick Gallery is home to the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s collection of contemporary craft and decorative art, one of the finest and most extensive collections of its kind. Compared to the other Smithsonian Muesams in the D.C., the Renwick Gallery is unique, quirky, and more hands-on. Although it is more "touristy" than other locations on the ExploR list, it is worth the small crowds due to the ever-changing galleries.

Tropicalia Lounge
This lounge is a funky, colorful cocktail lounge hosting live performances from Brazilian, Latin & Caribbean acts. From a crew who've worked in DC nightlife for two decades, this underground, international "dance club for grownups" is tucked into a 14th & U corner, features bands & DJs reverberating off three huge, surrealist art installations, and a glass mosaic bar. This is the perfect place for over-21 locals to hang out and listen to new music.

Food Truck Fiesta
The Food Truck Fiesta is a group of food trucks throughout the DMV. There is a tracker/map for every truck in the area, as well updated Twitter feeds. Locals can use the map (it is linked in the image allow) to find trucks near them for a quick lunch.
